Three continents, six participating countries and six days of festivities to feel the rhythm of Military Music!
The Québec City International Festival of Military Bands announces its 14th edition, which will take place from August 21 to 26 2012, and invites the festival-goers to feel the rhythm of the participating Military Bands coming from three different continents. The Festival offers to music lovers and strollers a major crossroads for Military Music, including special encounters with Bands from Germany, Austria, United States, Chile, France and, of course, Canada [to obtain the press release].
International Grand Concert “Celebrating 150 years of history of the Voltigeurs de Québec”
For the 2012 edition, a Military Grand Concert will be presented. The International Grand Concert “Celebrating 150 years of history of the Voltigeurs de Québec” is a magnificent show based on a historical framework, bringing together 200 artists from Canadian and foreign Bands. The show is scheduled on August 22, 8 P.M., at the Grand Théâtre de Québec.[floor plan]
“More than 90 musicians, including 40 Voltigeurs de Québec, 40 musicians from Germany, Austria, Chile and France, about 10 musicians from the Royal 22e Régiment, 20 pipes and drums and 90 choir members… Never seen before!”, expresses Réjean Blais, Festival’s artistic director. “It will be completely unbelievable; the audience will be blown away!”, says he enthusiastically.

ABA named the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands as one of the North America's 100 best events for 2012
The Festival has been designated as one of the Top 100 Events in North America for 2012 by an experienced expert tourism industry committee. Inclusion in the Top 100 list, published as a supplement to the Destinations magazine, indicates that the Festival offers excellent entertainment value to both tour groups and individual travelers from around the world, according to American Bus Association (ABA).
